murderbox MKII:

Dual TopFan

The inspiration for the Dual TopFan concept came from ceiling fans with the goal being to create a minimalistic fan housing structure that would incorporate 2x 120mm low speed fans to help draw warm air out of the upper section.

To hold the Dual TopFan in place, we designed it to work with the same frame as the Serpentine Topgrill so the two parts would be interchangeable. Since the Serpentine Topgrill comes with the MKII, all that's required to install the Dual TopFan is simply to pop out the Serpentine Topgrill, pop in the Dual TopFan and plug in its 3pin connector to an adjacent power header on the motherboard. Dust is not an issue while the Dual TopFan is on but in the event of prolonged periods where the machine is not in use, the black fitted cover can be slipped over the case.

Crossflow Fan Assembly

One of the concerns of the original TJ07 for some Owners was adequate air movement in the upper section and so we created a unique product called the Crossflow Fan Assembly. This unique device incorporates the Silverstone FX121 Crossflow fan and slides into the available 5.25 bay of the Drive Structure Assembly.

We wanted to create something distinctive and refined for the front of the Crossflow Fan Assembly so we designed an elegant grill that's machined out of a solid block of aluminum and features the same fine-texture anodized finish as the Unibody. The grill is easily removable thanks to push clips and behind it is a black foam dust filter that can be removed and cleaned by running it under a water tap and wringing it dry.

Single Radiator & DDC Pump Mount

We've simplified the process of adding a second loop to the MKII by creating a Single Radiator /Pump Mount that's easy to install. The Single Radiator /Pump Mount uses the same two-part base and bracket concept as the Quad Radiator mount with the same "swing into position and lock in place" design for simple, tool-less installation.

The Single Radiator/Pump Mount includes an insulated platform for a DDC pump. This pump feeds into the radiator via a short length of flexible hose or rigid rotary-style fittings. By integrating the DDC pump into the mount, there's enough room in the lower section for the PSU, Quad and Single Radiators, 2x DDC pumps; all with enough room for tubing. The Single Radiator/Pump Mount does not include radiator, fan, or DDC pump.

Internal AC Aquaero 5 Pro Mount

From the first time we incorporated an Aquaero thermal control unit in a custom murderbox build, we've included them ever since because of their superior functionality and features. Initially, we created a simple mount base that sat on the midplate but when the time came for a solution for the MKII, we knew we had to take it to the next level.

Part of our plan with the Drive Structure Assembly and the way sleds would be used to secure drives in place, was to also use the same system to mount internal devices like the Internal AC Aquaero 5 Pro Mount; this is what makes the system modular. By removing one of the 3.5 Drive Sleds and replacing it with a sled designed for the Aquaero, you have an effective way to mount the Aquaero that also provided easy access and concealment of the wires.

External AC Aquaero 5 XT Mount

For those who like their Aquaero thermal control unit accessible from the front, we've designed a mount that includes a bezel that blends beautifully with the Unibody exterior finish. What makes the bezel so clean is the absence of mounting holes visible from the front. This feature comes as result of using PEMs stamped into the interior surface of the bezel and attaching the Aquaero boards from the inside instead of through the front.

The External AC Aquaero 5 XT Mount fits into the 5.25 bay and the supplied bezel replaces the MKII's front door.

Luminous Panel

The Luminous Panel or as many call it the "sLight", has gone through a significant transformation resulting in an improvement from the original design. The Luminous Panel sits on the surface of the Structural Midplate and is held firmly in place by pressure fit. Drilling and tapping holes for hoses and fittings has been a challenge in the past so we've refined that system so only holes are required and the fittings are attached to threaded insert pieces that are inserted into the holes, creating a water tight seal. No need for tapping and threading and no fear of leaks.

The Luminous Panel is shipped without holes and includes 3 threaded insert tubes and clear instructions on how to drill holes and the size of drill bit required.

SilverStone BD-R Slot Load Blu-ray Writer (SOB02)

The SilverStone SOB02 Blu-ray writer is an optional replacement for the CD/DVD slot load drive that comes with the MKII as a standard feature. The price of the Blu-ray drive is based on removing the included CD/DVD drive from MKII order.

EK-X3 EVO.2 Reservoir

We've collaborated with EKWB to create a reservoir designed to integrate with the MKII's EVO.2 Floating Reservoir Holder mount (FRH). The EK-X3 EVO.2 Reservoir measures 50mm in diameter by 150mm. The 50mm diameter provides enough space for a GPU of up to 11" in length. The end caps are machined to fit perfectly into the EVO.2 FRH mounts, creating a smooth, refined result. If the EK-X3 EVO.2 Reservoir is selected, the 60mm diameter EVO.2 FRH mount that comes with the MKII is replaced with a 50mm diameter version that fits the EK-X3 EVO.2 Reservoir.

An additional EK-X3 EVO.2 Reservoir can be purchased (on the order page) for use in a dual-loop configuration and includes a set of EVO.2 FRH brackets that attach to the inside of the MKII's backplate.

TJ07 Black Mesh Metal Topgrill

For those seeking additional airflow in the MKII's upper section, we offer the same black mesh metal topgrill that comes with the SilverStone TJ07. This retro-style topgrill is designed to fit 2x 120mm fans (fans not included).
