ANNOUNCEMENT
We've temporarily paused murderbox and are not currently taking orders while we focus on completing our new upcoming products, primarily the MKII case. We've taken this pause because we're very close to releasing the MKII and see no point in offering machines now, that could instead be built using the new and improved MKII chassis in a few months.
We offer an email notification feature you're welcome to use to be contacted when we're ready to begin taking new orders.
While we enjoy getting feedback and do our best to answer inquiries, we thought it might help to provide a brief FAQ to answer some of the most common questions we're asked.
Question: What is murderbox?
A murderbox is a complete, custom built liquid cooled PC – using the latest hardware and painstakingly assembled by us.
Question: What is murderMod?
A murderMod is a product we produce and offer to be used in or as a part of a PC – built by someone other than us.
Question: How much does a murderbox cost?
A complete murderbox starts at $6,000USD and goes up from there, depending on the amount of custom work involved.
A well appointed murderbox with a single liquid cooling loop, GPU and a few drives typically comes in around the $7,000USD mark while something on the level of Daniel's 008 build is in the neighborhood of 2-3x that. Every murderbox is executed to perfection – it really comes down to degrees of "ultimate".
Question: Are murderbox machines available everywhere?
Almost. We use a leading shipping and logistics company whose principle business is transporting museum pieces and rare works of art – essentially, irreplaceable items. This caliber of service does not come cheap – especially since each murderbox delivered overseas is transported in its own custom built wooden crate. Some may find this method excessive but we're not building machines for the masses… these are the ultimate in custom creations and we don't take any chances when it comes to delivering them.
Question: Can I contact you and ask how did you do this – or what did you use to do that?
Yes, absolutely. You're welcome to contact us – we do our best to answer technical questions but it's always a matter of workload that determines our response time. Some products are achieved through proprietary methods and in that case, the process may not be fully disclosed. That being said, it never hurts to ask and we'll answer the questions we can!
Question: Why the name murderbox?
While the name wasn't intended in the literal sense, we've had some fun with subsequent products like the Psychopack, Sociopack, etc… The intention was to conceive a unique name that challenged conventions and made a bold statement… like our machines.
