Status Update Sept. 6, 2012

Today we're exploring two potentially viable options that will lead to the resumption of the MKII ordering process. These scenarios will be evaluated simultaneously so we can select the best solution to proceed with. This process will likely take a few days to complete, and once we're ready, we will update the website and contact everyone who's placed an order, or received an Order Details Confirmation, and present them with our plan to move forward.

To all who have previously placed orders and have been refunded - we will keep your order details intact and reserve your MKII numbers for you. For everyone still interested in ordering the MKII, we'll figure out a way to let you know when we're ready to resume taking orders - the method will either involve the use of very fit Carrier Pigeons, or possibly the Internet - for now we'll keep it a surprise.

On behalf of the murderbox team, I sincerely thank everyone who's contacted us to offer their support; it really means a lot and encourages us immeasurably. Our goal now is to take the situation at hand, and turn it into something even better than before. We're very familiar with obstacles and knowing what it takes to overcome them and as the saying goes: "adapt or die". I assure you that we certainly didn't come this far only to be halted by PayPal.

We were contacted by PayPal who informed us that the method of pre-sale of the murderbox MKII was not acceptable to their business model, and we therefore could not use their service to process our orders. The result is that we will be refunding all the deposits to those who ordered the MKII, and suspending all ordering while we explore other options. Needless to say, this came as a shock to us as we were unaware of any written policy that explicitly limited the period of time between collecting deposits and delivering products.

On behalf of the murderbox team, I sincerely thank those of you who placed orders for the MKII and apologize for any inconvenience this has caused. You will receive your deposit refunds today, please let us know if you have any questions. We will contact you if we're successful in finding an alternate payment solution.

Also on behalf of the team, I'd like to thank everyone who believed in us and supported us through this process. It's not over yet and we will keep you posted.
